    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get utility connections the same day?

Typically no. Electricity and water connect within two to three days. Gas and internet require one to two weeks depending on inspection schedules and technician availability.

    Are deposits required?

Yes. Electricity, water, and gas subscriptions require deposits, which are refunded when you close your account. Internet subscriptions generally don't require deposits.

    Are utility rates fixed?

No. Consumption determines your bills. Meter readings occur monthly; charges reflect actual usage.

    Are Turkish utility costs high?

Utility costs in Turkey compare favorably to most European countries. Overall rates remain moderate relative to regional standards.

How do I pay utility bills?

Banks, post offices, payment centers, and online banking all accept bill payments. Automatic payment orders through your bank ensure timely settlement.

Can foreigners apply for utilities independently?

Yes, though language barriers may complicate interactions with service staff. Working with an agent ensures smooth communication and correct procedures.

Can someone else register utilities for me?

Yes. Power of attorney authorizes representatives to complete subscriptions on your behalf. Sun and Sky Real Estate handles these procedures for clients who prefer not to attend personally.
